Bart D. Ehrman é considerado uma autoridade em História da Igreja e da vida de Jesus. É presidente do Departamento de Estudos Religiosos da Universidade da Carolina do Norte, em Chapel Hill. Participa frequentemente em programas do Canal História, da CNN e de outras estações de rádio e de televisão. Gravou várias séries de palestras muito populares para a Teatching Company.
