Doutoramento em Línguas, Literaturas e Culturas (Estudos Culturais), a apresentar à Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, sob o título The Chocolate Makers and the “Abyss of Hell”: Portuguese perceptions of the campaign against slave labour in the Cocoa Islands (1901-1917). Passou a maior parte da sua vida profissional no British Council, em Portugal, desempenhando diversos cargos docentes e executivos. É artista plástico, tradutor e investigador no Grupo British Culture and History do Centre for English, Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies (CETAPS).
